Strain-Resolved Dynamics of the Lung Microbiome in Patients with Cystic Fibrosis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cystic fibrosis patients frequently suffer from recurring respiratory infections caused by colonizing pathogenic and commensal bacteria. Although modern therapies can sometimes alleviate symptoms ameliorating residual function of the protein responsible for disorder, management chronic remains an issue.

Outcome of Cystic Fibrosis in Patients with Bronchiectasis
Introduction: Bronchiectasis is a common problem in children especially under 5 years. Early diagnosis of disease and its causes could be useful in early treatment and preventing probable complications. This study aimed at evaluating the cystic fibrosis (CF) in patients with bronchiectasis. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 374 children with bronchiectasis were studied. The diagnosis was ma...
متن کاملA Different Microbiome Gene Repertoire in the Airways of Cystic Fibrosis Patients with Severe Lung Disease
In recent years, next-generation sequencing (NGS) was employed to decipher the structure and composition of the microbiota of the airways in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. However, little is still known about the overall gene functions harbored by the resident microbial populations and which specific genes are associated with various stages of CF lung disease. In the present study, we aimed to ...
متن کاملA Review of The Role of The Microbiome on Immune Responses and Its Association With Cystic Fibrosis
In recent years, the microbiome has been recognized as a key regulator of immune responses. Evidence suggests that changes in the microbiome can lead to chronic disease and even exacerbation of the disease. Impairment of innate immunity resulting from microbial incompatibility may worsen host susceptibility to infection and exacerbate chronic lung diseases. Specific microbes play a key role in ...
متن کاملThe cystic fibrosis airway microbiome.
Repeated pulmonary exacerbation and progressive lung function decline characterize cystic fibrosis (CF) disease, and represents one of the leading causes of mortality in this patient population. Recent studies have shown, using culture-independent assays, that multiple microbial species can be detected in airway samples from CF patients. Moreover, specific groups of bacteria within these bacter...
